It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. There is definitely a Junoesque feel to the movie. However almost immediately the verbiage coming out of main character Nick Twisp's (played by Michael Cera) mouth throws you into a confused state. He speaks like a polished Havard or Yale grad in his late 20's or early 30's with deep knowledge of both poetry and vinyl classics of Frank Sinatra, not the 16/17 year old character he plays who has a white trash mom, Jean Smart - played similar character brilliantly in Garden State, that is dating a truck driver played by Zach Galifianakis - underwhelming but still humorous. Not until his alter ego Francois Dillinger shows up does the movie take shape. Like most movie love stories, the boy does crazy acts to show his undying love for the girl.
You get to see Cera actually act when he is in Dillinger mode - smoking, cussing and sporting a stache. Portia Doubleday was great and has several funny lines. She is a beautiful up and comer.
So that was my first movie write up. I give the movie a B- and definitely wait for it on Netflix.
